7th “Hong Kong Tasting Trendies® Sake Awards” Presentation Ceremony

The first Hong Kong Tasting Trendies® Sake Awards was established in 2017 by Tasting Trendies® and has become the oldest sake competition in Asia (outside of Japan). The Sake and Shochu entries are either sent to Hong Kong directly from the sake breweries & distilleries, or are being carefully selected by Hong Kong agents to compete for the grand prizes. In addition to the ‘Expert Judge Group’, the judging panel also created its original ‘User Judge Group’. Apart from the above, a newly created ‘Importer Judge Group’ is being created this year and the sake or shochu with the highest scores of this Group will be awarded the “TTSA 2023 MVP" medal. Furthermore, an 18th judging category is added this year to include the sakes made with the rice variety, Aiyama. This rigorous competition has encouraged more and more high-quality and diversified sakes to enter the competition. The results of the award-winning sakes will encompass the taste preferences of all the different ‘stakeholders’.
